Train adventure across Canada

My trip through the Canadian Rockies on Rocky Mountaineer for my 20th wedding anniversary sold me on the beauty of Canada! We took the train through the mountains, checked out the awesome town of Banff, spent a night at the Fairmont overlooking unbelievable Lake Louise, and even experienced walking on a glacier on the Columbia Icefields Parkway. One of the highlights of the trip was seeing how Canada protects its wildlife by building natural bridges where animals can safely cross the highway.

The Rocky Mountaineer train only travels during the daylight, ensuring that you do not miss any of the awesome scenery! This luxury experience offers two classes of service and a variety of different itineraries from which to choose. Add to that the warmth of the Canadian people and you have a real winner here! Rocky Mountaineer is one of Scenic Connections’ featured vacations.

I want to experience more of this beautiful country on a cross-country train trip. I am hoping to take Via Rail from Toronto to Jasper and then jump on the Rocky Mountaineer’s other route from Jasper to Whistler and on into Vancouver. The itinerary I am considering also includes a day trip to Niagara Falls, which I vaguely remember visiting when I was a child. Of course, I also want to experience Montreal, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, and Halifax, but I think a cruise is the best option for that part of the country!

I am considering a cross-Canada train trip for fall of 2022 in the hopes of enjoying the added bonus of fall color. If anyone is interested in joining, contact me and maybe we can get a group together.
